Job Title:   Lead Training Supervisor                                                  

 

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

 

Under the direct supervision of the QMRP and the indirect supervision of the DT Program Coordinator and DT Program Manager, the Lead Training Supervisor is responsible for providing direct care and supervision as well as ensure the safety of all consumers in the DT training program.  The Lead Training Supervisor is responsible for working directly with program consumers and insuring the implementation of program goals and objectives as stated in the consumers Individualized Service Plan (ISP), this includes the ongoing and accurate completion of program data sheets and other documentation such as accident/incident reports, seizure reports and behavior reports and ensuring those reports are completed and disseminated in a timely manner. The Lead Training Supervisor is responsible for carrying out consumer schedules and is required to have an understanding of the needs of the consumers in his/her program/work area, (personalities, strengths, communication needs, objectives, behaviors).

 

The Lead Training Supervisor will assist the Training Supervisors in the performance of their job duties by directing, giving feedback, and making suggestions.  The Lead Training Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all of the appropriate materials required to carry out programming/vocational activities are available in their work area. The Training Supervisor will keep the QMRPs informed of daily changes in regards to program issues.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

            1.         Observe all consumers’ rights.

 

            2.         Ensure the work and training schedules of the consumers in their area are followed (i.e. toileting schedules, repositioning, lunch / breaks etc.) and solve everyday problems when they occur

 

            3.         Account for each consumer upon arrival and departure each day.

 

            4.         Provide training to individuals on assigned objectives as determined by the individuals ISP; as well as ensure that each individual consumer receives the necessary assistance to carry out their scheduled daily activities, including workshop production-related tasks.

 

            5.         Supervise consumers in non-training settings, such as lunch, social-recreational activities, transportation and community access.

 

            6.         Assist individuals with other tasks as needed (eating, self-care, toileting, repositioning, etc.).

 

            7.         Carry out the steps of any individualized behavior training plan, in the least restrictive manner possible.

 

            8.         Record data accurately on the implementation of program objectives, vocational activities and behavioral interventions.

 

9          Provide oversight and direction to the assigned Training Supervisors in their training areas and provide Trainers with feedback, and support.     

 

            10        Accompany consumers on community outings and implement programs/plans across any number of different settings.

 

            11.       Keep an accurate inventory of needed program and vocational materials and supplies and communicate the need for same to the appropriate QMRP for procurement.

 

            12.       Follow the principles of normalization and age appropriateness during all activities.

 

            13.       Ensure that all program activities are carried out in a manner reflecting the greatest degree of client independence and choice.

 

            14.       Offer suggestions regarding program/vocational activities and assist to revise when needed.

 

            15.       Work with the Q.M.R.P. toward completion of the ISP process for each individual (ICAP, Pre-ISP Update, Vocational Assessments, etc.)

 

            16.       Review data sheets, make comments and submit to QMRP at the end of the month.

           

            17.       Make sure seizure, incident and behavior reports are completed accurately and timely manner.

 

18.       Assist as needed in consumer transportation (driving, supervision/monitoring)

 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

 

High School Diploma or GED.

 

Must possess the ability to read and write at eighth grade level.

 

(1) One year experience in the provision of services to individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
